This weekend is Treasure Island Music Festival here in San Francisco. If you’ve been following along with me since the beginning, you already know how much I love this little music festival.
TIMF is special for many reasons, and always has one of my favorite festival lineups. And while the TIMF lineup is much smaller than your typical big city music festival, it’s always expertly curated and allows for a schedule with no overlapping sets – meaning that you can catch every single act on the bill as bands switch back and forth between the festival’s two stages. Pretty much my paradise.
The festival’s location on Treasure Island also makes this festival one of a kind, with sweeping vistas of the city and the bay. And yes, it gets really freaking cold at night on Treasure Island but it’s all just a part of the charm, IMHO. Sadly, this year is the final year the festival will be held on the Island, but I’m hopeful that the magic of Treasure Island Music Festival will live on no matter where the festival takes place in the future.
This year’s TIMF lineup is strong, as always, and is packed with TML favorites like James Blake, Christine and the Queens, Kelela, Sylvan Esso, Flight Facilities and Tycho as well as artists I’m excited to see live for the first time like Car Seat Headrest, Kamaiyah, Hinds, Neon Indian and Sigur Rós.
As you might have guessed, Lineup #108 features artists playing at Treasure Island 2016. Handpicked, of course, to make sure you have the best possible start to your week.
Listen to this week’s Lineup below. And as always, you can click here follow The Official Monday Lineup playlist on Spotify, auto-refreshed with the newest Lineup every Monday morning.
Until next Monday.
